Support Medical and In-home care in Georgia
We’re partnering with longtime collaborator Caritas Georgia to care for and minister to the region’s “new orphans” — elderly people who live alone and have little to no access to medical care. Caritas has established a first in the rural Samtskhe-Javakheti region of southwestern Georgia: a home care team of nurses and other caregivers, along with dispensaries in five remote villages.
This year, with your help, Caritas hopes to expand its efforts. Ninety elderly, bedridden men and women will receive weekly in-home health care and meal delivery.
Additionally, we will help to ensure that village medical dispensaries are staffed with a doctor, medicine and supplies catered to the needs of the local population. These dispensaries will serve 1,000 patients this year.
You can offer these men and women, whose children and families have in many cases left the country to find work elsewhere, not only medicine and food, but the gift of dignity.
